Houston Responds to Rebs in NIT
(UMAA)OXFORD, Miss. - Spring football drills at Ole Miss were scheduled to begin here Wednesday afternoon, but head coach Houston Nutt announced Monday that he is pushing back the start until Thursday since the University is hosting an opening round game of the National Invitation Tournament here Wednesday night.
“We want to do everything we can to show our support to Coach (Andy) Kennedy and the basketball program,” Nutt said. “Hosting the NIT on campus is important, and I know our fans and students will be there for this team.”
Kennedy’s Rebels (21-10) are a No. 2 seed and will host UC Santa Barbara (23-8) in opening round action Wednesday night at 7 in Tad Smith Coliseum. The game will be telecast on ESPNU. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $4 for students and may be purchaed online or by calling 662-915-7167.
