Second Verse Better Be Better Than The First

For the second time in as many years, the Rebels will be hosting a NCAA Tournament Regional in Oxford. This year the Rebels picked up a Number 5 national seed, highest among all SEC teams. The Rebels are paired in the regional with Maine, Oklahoma, and Southern Mississippi. Last year the Rebels did not even make it to the final game of their own regional. Things will hopefully be different this year. However they are not in the easiest of all regionals. Ole Miss has faced Southern Miss three times this year and hold a 2-1 record. The Sooners of Oklahoma are from a tough Big 12 conference and are supposed to have a really good pitching staff, that is very deep. The Rebels will pitch their normal weekend rotation this weekend unlike last year. The first game will be played at 3:00 on Friday afternoon matching up Oklahoma and Southern Miss. The night game between Ole Miss and Maine will begin at 7:00. Hopefully the Rebs will have better luck with the Black Bears of Maine than the Mississippi State football team did. Should the Rebels make it out of their regional, they will host the winner of the Texas regional in Oxford.
