Egg Bowl Change

The powers that be have moved the Egg Bowl to the Friday after Thanksgiving with a noon kick-off in order to accomodate tv. I do not like this move at all. I think it is a terrible time and it will more than likely be on a terrible network, I would assume the Dave Show of Lincoln Financial will broadcast this game. Which will air before the LSU-Arkansas game. I would much rather see this game after the LSU-Arkansas game, there would be a bigger crowd at the game and more people watching it on tv. With the way these two teams have played in the last two years, I will be surprised if there are 40,000 people at the game in Starkville. I really hope they bargain for a better time next year in Oxford.

(SID) OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss and Mississippi State announced Wednesday that this year’s “Battle for the Golden Egg” will be played in Starkville on Friday, November 23, in order to accommodate television. The game had been scheduled for Saturday, November 24.

“After not being on TV the last few years, it’s good to see the Ole Miss-Mississippi State game returning to television,” said Rebel head coach Ed Orgeron. “We are excited about this opportunity and the exposure it brings to our program.”

It will mark the 13th time for a football game between Ole Miss and Mississippi State to be telecast on a regional or national basis, with the Rebels holding a 7-5 victory advantage. Kickoff time for this year’s game at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field is set for noon and will be televised by one of the Southeastern Conference broadcast partners.
