No Good News for Curtis

(C-L) OXFORD — Ole Miss center Dwayne Curtis will likely miss the Rebels’ basketball season opener against Mississippi Valley State on Nov. 10 because of a stress fracture in his left foot, coach Andy Kennedy said today.
The junior was originally scheduled to miss two to four weeks because of the injury, which happened during the first week of practice. But after an MRI on Curtis’ foot late last week, Kennedy said the 6-foot-8, 280-pounder could be out as long as five weeks.Kennedy said there’s a chance Curtis will play in the opener, but a more realistic timeline for his return is the second week of the season. “They don’t want to do surgery,” Kennedy said. “But they want to give it more time to do its own healing.”

On another note for those in Oxford Friday night the Rebel Roundballers will be hosting a scrimmage at 6:30.
