Road Woes

The Arkansas Razorbacks did not let the Rebels reclaim Bud Walton arena tonight as they defeated Ole Miss 71-58. This loss moves the Rebels to 3-2 in the SEC and 13-5 overall. The first ten minutes of this game it looked like it was going to be neck and neck for the whole game. However with the Rebels up two and looking to extend their lead, a charging foul was called on Clarence Sanders, who preceeded to make his three point shot. A no call here puts the Rebels up five, their biggest lead of the game. Instead the charge call goes against the Rebels and the Hogs go on a 16-0 run and they never looked back. The Rebels never seemed to be there mentally after this foul. This happens too often for the Rebel basketball team, whenever one thing does not go their way, they roll over and die.

The Rebels were led by Clarence Sanders with 12 points all of which came in the second half. I like that Sanders was scoring more, but do not like the fact they all came in the second half. Once again this team does not play on a consistent basis, our guys have got to grow up and play well everynight. The Rebels shot around 40% from the field. The only good thing that came out of this game was the fact the Rebels fixed their rebounding woes from the Georgia game, outrebounding the Razorbacks 35-29.

This two week hiatus from the Tad Pad has hurt the Rebels. They will finally return home this Saturday and will play host to the Western Division leaders, LSU Tigers. This game will tell us if the Rebels are tough or not. I only hope Coach Barnes is able to get this team back playing how they were before they left Oxford.
