Two Out of Three Ain't Bad???
This is the saying most Ole Miss fans are expressing. I have to disagree with this statement. The Rebels who came back in the ninth inning Friday night and the eleventh inning Saturday, struggled to get both of these wins. Losing Sunday was dissapointing. Eric Fowler continues to pitch well for the Rebels and went six innings. Will Kline was brought in and was absolutely rocked. Why we brought a pitcher with an above nine ERA, I dunno. One answer is there is that we have no pitching. While this is true we have more in the bullpen better than Kline. In such a very important game, I dunno why we put the game in Kline's hands. However, he did not solely lose the game for the Rebs. Poor hitting and a few errors did not help out in the loss.
I stated last week, we needed to win four out of the next six. Well we are halfway there. MSU comes into the series, with several of their best hitters hurt. However they are still a very good team. There will be another weekend of big crowds due to it being Double Decker weekend. We MUST win this series. By my calculations, Ole Miss is currently in third place in the SEC West. Two games behind Alabama, who is in first. While we are in o.k. position, we need to continue to take two of three as we wrap up SEC play over the next several weeks.
The Rebels will host a mid-week series with Memphis State. The Tigers will travel to Oxford on Tuesday and the Rebels will return the favor on Wednesday as they travel to Autozone park.
