Nutts First Class

Well signing day is all but over. It was about as I expected it to be for the Rebels, we lost some on the last day and we gained some. From the major recruiting websites, the Rebel signing class is where most thought they would wind up ranked in the mid 2o's and low 30's among the NCAA signing classes. The Rebels had a great pick up in running back Enrique Davis, the number one ranked prep school player in America.

The only commit left unsigned is Tig Barksdale, who has not made up his mind if he wants to accept the academic road that Ole Miss has laid out for him. Tig will either sign with the Rebels or sign with NWCC to play next year. Either way I doubt this guy will be on the field for the Rebels next year due to academic battles he has to face.

It really is a sad story what goes on at South Panola, you would think one of these days someone is going to hire a real good academic counselor to teach these kids and that the coaches are going to stay on top of these kids to make their grades. I know it is not just USP, and that it goes on everywhere. But year after year some of the most talented kids in the state do not make it to play in various SEC schools due to their poor grades from South Panola.

Oh well, all and all some ups and downs, but seems to be a pretty decent class and this is what many of Nutt's signing classes will look like while he is at Ole Miss.
