Ramblings

- I rode by the baseball stadium this weekend while I was in Oxford. They have made a good bit of progress with the work in and around OU Stadium. The work on the coaches offices are coming along, however I am not sure if they will be in there and settled by first pitch in February. It looks like this will be a great addition to the stadium.

The terraced seating in the outfield is well on its way also. The right field/student seating is complete. They added two rows on front of the existing terrace as well as extended the seeting and grill areas all the way down by the foul pole in front of the tennis courts. The work in left field has begun. They have added some rows down front and are working on extending the area more towards center field. I hated to see them cut those trees down out there, I think they looked good, but I guess they had to in order to expand the seating. Things are beginning to shape up for the 2007 season.

-The basketball team held a scrimmage on Friday night in front of several hundred fans. From what I heard Coach Kennedy was quite the entertainment. They will hold an exhibition this Friday against North Alabama. It will be the first time for the new Rebel team to play another team as they begin to prepare for regular season play which begins in less than two weeks.

-The football team plays host to Northwestern State on Saturday. Northwestern has several players that were once on the Ole Miss football team who have since transferred to the Louisiana school. They are NSU Tim Henderson, Gary Riggs and Rogers Loche.
