Movin On Up

Oxford - The Ole Miss men's tennis team is up a spot to No. 5 in this week's Fila ITA National Rankings, as they get set to face arch-rival Mississippi State in the ninth annual River Hills Mississippi Cup Thursday in Jackson. The two teams will square off at 5 p.m. at the River Hills Club. The Rebels have won six straight in the Mississippi Cup, including three consecutive shutouts. In addition, the Rebels have won 15 in a row in the overall series. State's last win in the series actually came in the 1999 Mississippi Cup, a 4-3 win. "We are looking forward to Thursday's match," head coach Billy Chadwick said. "Anytime these two teams face each other, it's always a battle. This has become a premier event in the nation with other schools starting to host similar events around the country." Ole Miss is off to a 2-0 start with wins over 32nd-ranked Louisville and 33rd-ranked Louisiana-Lafayette.
