COACH O

The most important news of the day. The University of Mississippi has hired USC Asst. Coach/ Head Recruiter Ed Orgeron as the new head football coach. Coach O, as he prefers to be called, will bring fire to the game that has been absent on the Ole Miss sideline for the last six years. While I did not call for David Cutcliffe to be fired, I did think changes in the staff need to be made. I was very impressed in Coach O's interviewed and the fact he is recruiting already on the first day of his job. He is rumored to be visiting our prospects in South Panola as well as Memphis. Over the next several days it will be interseting to see who Coach O will hire as his assistants. Many have thought Jay Hopson and Matt Luke will be retained from the current staff. Right now it looks like R.C. Slocum's son will be brought on the staff also. However the one name I am concerned over is who the Offensive Coordinator will be. Noel Mazzone's name has been thrown around by several who have played the name game. Hopefully he will retain Pete DeWeese as a head manager on the team. I can not wait for Coach O to prove Tim Brando wrong.
