The Road To Omaha Has Begun

On what turned out to be a great day for baseball, the Rebels began their season with a stomping of Arkansas State, by a score of 10-0. The #15 Ole Miss Rebels opened the season in front of a very impressive 3,118 fans. I have to say I was extremely impressed with the support of the fans and students in attendance. If the attendance is a sign of things to come, it is going to be a packed house later this spring. Anthony Cupps and Matt Maloney both pitched well for the Rebels. Brian Pettway began the season the right way with a home-run in the sixth inning. As one fan put it the only disappointing thing about today's game was the selection of music played. The Rebels return to action this weekend as they travel to a tournament in Houston. They begin play on Friday against Lamar.
