An Ugly One

In one of the ugliest games I have seen in a while at Tad Smith, Ole Miss wins 59-54 over Georgia. Ole Miss did not play to well tonight, kind of played to the quality of their opponent. Ole Miss was led by Todd Abernathy with 13 points, Marvin Moore surprisingly contributed 10 points. The Bulldogs were led by Steve Newman with 19 points. The key for the Rebels win was holding Georgia standout Levi Stukes to a game low 4 points. A scuffle broke out late in the game in which two players from each team were given technical fouls. Londrick Nolen and Just Johnson both fouled out in the scuffle. Nolen committed two technical fouls against the Bulldogs. The commissioner of the SEC Mike Slive was in attendance at tonight's game accompanied by SEC staffer and former Ole Miss football player Jamil Northcut. Let's hope the SEC does not review the fight and suspend Nolen or Johnson. Ole Miss moves to 10-6 and 1-2 in the SEC. The Rebels will take on Auburn Saturday, in a game that could go either way, but would be a big time win for the Rebels on the road. The game will be televised by Fox Sports South and is a 4:00 tip-off.
